Pakistan's "Three Gorges Project"-Neelum-Jelum Hydropower Station
The Neelum-Jelum Hydropower Project ("N-J Hydropower Station" for short) is the project with the largest contract value in Pakistan's history and is known as Pakistan's "Three Gorges Project". The N-J Hydropower Station is constructed by a consortium composed of China Gezhouba Group Co., Ltd. and China National Machinery and Equipment Import and Export Corporation. A construction contract was signed in 2007 with a contract value of 20.353 billion yuan. The construction was officially started on January 30, 2008. The total installed capacity of the project is 969 MW. After the power station units are fully generated in 2018, the annual power generation is about 5.15 billion kWh, accounting for 12% of Pakistan's hydropower generation.
